PUKE RECORDS IS BACK!

KICKING ASS!

And Looking Forward to new releases!

PUKE RECORDS started out as a casette label with the release of The Rickets "Tax Money" demo tape in the winter of 1990. Puke Records was founded by members of The Rickets as a way to self release their own recordings. Later on they graduated to releasing records. The Rickets would put on shows at the Island Center Hall on Bainbridge Island. They would take the money from these shows and put it towards putting out records. The first 7in release was The Rickets "McShit" seven inch with only 150 pressed. The next release was also a Rickets 7 inch entitled "The 666 System Is Here" with also only 150 pressed. Along with these two 7 inches Puke Records released numerous demo tapes of the Rickets, most notable being the "Diet Punk" demo. The songs from their "Diet Punk" demo later ended up on their K records and Beer City releases. In 1996 Puke Records released the "Bottom of the Bottle" 7 inch with 1000 pressed. This release featured Kathleen Hanna of Bikini Kill doing vocals with The Rickets on a cover of 'Til Tuesday's "Voices Carry". Larry Rickets recruited Beth Lind as a business partner in 1997.

The next release was a 7 inch by a short lived Ramonesy style band from Seattle called The Retards. In 1998 Puke Records proudly released their first full length LP by Larry and The Gonowheres. The Trots classic "Walk the Plank" 7 inch on green vinyl was the next release. After we released the Trots 7 inch on Puke Records we found out Ken from Dirtnap Records was rather disappointed because he was hoping to release the 7 inch himself. He had just not gotten around to asking the Trots. After that was the "Larry" 7 inch titled "Do You Wanna Hate Me" in 1999. This record was a co-release with Jonny Cat Records. After this release Puke Records went on a 4 year hiatus after relocating to Oakland. In 2004 Puke Records was ready for a comeback release and was all set to co-release the Deadly Weapons full length LP with Jonny Cat Records. Unfortunately for reasons unknown, certain members from Deadly Weapons would not allow this to happen. Jonny Cat records was forced to do the release on it's own. This put the Puke Records comeback release on hold. So finally we decided on The Spits and The Triggers split 7 inch and in 2005 it was finally released. Now we're back.....
